OUR STORY · EST. 2026

Five co-founders, one room.

The team behind TableTap
TableTap was born in Addis in 2025, after one of us spent thirty minutes waving at a waiter. Five co-founders - engineers and operators - pulled chairs around a table and decided to fix it.
I

Spark

It started with a thirty-minute wait.

Chanoly, Addis Ababa, 2025. Mustafa sat for thirty minutes before a waiter even noticed him. He was working part-time as a server himself that year, so he knew it wasn't the staff's fault - it was the system. Or rather, the absence of one.

That night, the first sketches went onto a napkin. By the next week, the five of us had pulled chairs around a table.

Thirty minutes. One napkin. Five co-founders.

Build

From napkin to live software.

2025

Bereket wrote the first line of code. The team prototyped on weekends.

Late 2025

Mahder onboarded the first restaurant. Real plates. Real Friday-night chaos.

Early 2026

Muhammed streamlined the first feedback loop - every order, every complaint, every win, looped back into the build.

2026

Ammar drew the financial strategy that gave us runway to do this properly. Closed alpha graduated to early access.

Team

Five co-founders. One room.

Mustafa - CEO. Had the first lightbulb moment at Chanoly. Worked as a waiter part-time. Knows what a 30-minute wait actually feels like.

Bereket - CTO. Wrote the first line of code. Owns the engine that makes a tap feel instant.

Mahder - COO. Onboarded the first restaurant. Runs the operation that gets us into rooms.

Muhammed - CPO. Streamlined the first feedback loop. Why what we ship feels considered.

Ammar - CRO. Drew the financial strategy. Makes sure we can keep building.

All co-founders. All shipping.

Where we are. Where we're going.

Early access in Addis through 2026. Telebirr live. Kitchen displays live. Menus live. Cards, staff, and invoices follow through the year. Then Adama, Bahir Dar, Hawasa, Jigjiga, Dire Dawa, Bishoftu, Harar - and anywhere else orders need us. Then Africa, and beyond.
